This is a very rare and deluxe book entitled Uchigatanagoshirae.
The English forword to this book says"The Tokyo National Museum had a special display of Uchigatana Goshirae-art of Japanese Sword Mountnig in July,1985.This catalogue contains most of the specimines from that exhibition as well as some additions studied afterward,to present the result of our research to this date.
Despite the fact Uchigatana Goshirae was the major sword mounting in the Premodern period,exisiting examples from the early Edo or previous periods are extremely few.The research of its emergence and development has not advanced much further than where Edo period students left off.We have included many illustrations of details of sword mountings with descriptions of their shapes and measurements ro shed light upon the characteristics of the styles."
Fortunately,some pages including forword or list of plates are written in English.
It consists of 284 pages.
