Husako Kubo is a specialist on Kimono and Lady's costumes in Japanese Imperial Court.
There is a description in English at last of this book saying;
'The primary purpose of this volume is to make known widely, through color photos of specimens surviving from the Pre-modern age, the historical development and actual aspects of ladies' court costume of Japan which heretofore have not been known well by the Japanese people.
Court costume was worn in Japan since about the beginning of the 5th century. The earliest one was after the style of clothing of the mounted nomads in the western part of the Asistic Continent, introduced here by way of the Korean Peninsula'...
